Some escapism for this Friday morning which I think we're all in need of (anyone else getting lockdown fatigue?😩).⁠ ⁠ I was just completely blown away when I came across the work of @benjaminshinestudio. He creates these beautiful faces using tulle! He describes it as "painting with fabric". I have this thing for rattan. Although I do find it's a bit of a marmite material! ⁠ ⁠ For me, it's just so versatile and designers are using it to create really interesting furniture now. Gone are the days of slightly naff rattan. ⁠ ⁠ It can have a masculine look like the Bermuda chair I used in my industrial room on Sunday or a bohemian feel like this gorgeous headboard.⁠ ⁠ My go to place for all things rattan is @therattancompany. Industrial living room template number two! ⁠ ⁠ I took the green of the @madesotcom sofa and matched it in the alcoves we created in the fireplace The concrete on the floor carries on up the fireplace. The woodwork is picked out in @fleetwood_paints Heritage Grey. ⁠ ⁠ All the other lovely things are tagged and you can check out our IGTV if you'd like a 360 tour. ⁠ ⁠ Still places left on our waiting list for when the platform launches in early March. Happy New Year lovely followers. This month may not be the best start to 2021 but things really can only get better, as they say! I find Woo particularly good when I'm looking for something a bit more unusual, be it a particular size or a particular look. I invariably find what I'm looking for when I go onto their website. I'm interrupting our regularly scheduled programming this week to share with you the new room templates I've been creating for the platform launch. This design is for the Dark and Glam category of rooms and features @houseofhackney wallpaper and curtains with some gorgeous pieces that are all tagged. I used a Frame TV so we can easily disguise it as beautiful art! The 360 degree tour of the room is on the website, you can click the link in bio to have a look. For our retailer focus this week, I thought I would look at some of my favourite Irish florists doing wreaths this year. For those of you that haven't managed to get your front door organised yet (me ✋). ⁠ ⁠ There is the most lovely selection of original and just downright beautiful wreaths in these images! A really unique selection of things for your home and just the perfect spot for that person in your life who is into design and likes something a little bit different. ⁠ ⁠ They also have possibly the best and most hilarious selection of tree decorations on the market (see stories). ⁠ ⁠ And also, LOOK AT THOSE PLATES! B O N J O U R! ⁠ ⁠ Possibly my favourite entrance I've designed. ❤️ Had loads of fun with these tiles, expertly put together by the guys @mosaicassemblers. So much can be done with mosaics, they can be an inexpensive way of doing something really interesting. And it helps to have lovely clients who want to have some fun! @ail.and.el (Aileen Balfe) is one of my favourite Irish designers for homewares products. ⁠ ⁠ We stocked her beautiful planters (and more) in Dust all the way from when we had a little pop up store in Dublin 8 six years ago. I still have her planters going strong from those days! I think I might need to add to my collection with one of the two tone versions. ⁠❤🧡👀👀 ⁠ She creates beautiful, geometric patterns on a concrete base with amazing vibrant colours. They're really eye-catching pieces that people always comment on. Over the years, I've come across so many wonderful art and places to buy it. Sourcing art for projects has always been one of my favourite parts of the job. I know that this is something people struggle with when they're doing up their home. In particular, finding reasonably priced art is not always easy. ⁠ ⁠ So I'm starting a weekly strand where I'll be featuring amazing artists I love or fab places to buy it. ⁠ ⁠ In keeping with my retailer strand, this side of Christmas I'll be sharing some of my favourite independent galleries to buy really cool art at good prices, both in Ireland and the UK. So you can get shopping for the art lovers in your life (aren't we all?). ⁠ This week I'm starting with Dublin based @@hensteethstore.
