GEORGIAN DUBLIN
Our clients didn’t want to play it safe, they wanted fun, colour and drama.
This was a full demolition and new-build, over 4,500 sq ft, built from scratch in the Georgian style. DesignLed took the project from initial concept through to handover, a process that ran over two years.
The bespoke joinery runs throughout the house and was central to both how it looks and how it functions. The panelling in particular became the means through which we explored the tension between the Georgian architecture and the new building, enabling us to bring character into the structure and explore modern interpretations of period detail. Much of it also does double duty: concealed doorways, hidden storage, furniture built into the fabric of the rooms.
The project was featured across nine pages in the November 2022 issue of LivingEtc, and has since appeared in Interior Design Magazine, Marie Claire Italia, and House & Home. It was also longlisted for a Dezeen Award and shortlisted for an Irish Fit Out Award.
